Senior Naval Commander Lt. Gen. J.R. Wijesuriya addressed the Chief Prelates of Malwathu and Asgiri chapters on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration among the island's diverse religious communities.

The new commander highlighted the critical role these groups play in fostering national cohesion and called upon them to continue their efforts towards strengthening social harmony and mutual respect within the country.

Lt. Gen. Wijesuriya noted that both Malwathu and Asgiri chapters are at the forefront of religious leadership in Sri Lanka, and stressed the importance of their continued support for national causes and peacebuilding initiatives.
